Climate change.
Human created energy: 3 volcanoes worth.
The population will at best double EVER: maximum human output of heat production 6 volcanoes.
Natural volcano energy production currently: 11 active volcanoes. A currently low amount historically.
Realise that one volcano, if it has a severe eruption, which happens every couple hundred years or so, can drop the global temperture significantly and kill. Iceland the Laki eruption in 1783 was a memorable one.
"The effects, of course, were most severe in Iceland; ultimately, more than 75 percent of Icelands livestock and 25 percent of its human population died from famine or the toxic impact of the Laki eruption clouds. Consequences were also felt far beyond Iceland."

Solar output variation as much as one or two degrees either way globally.
Numbers of people living in poverty: current estimates place this around 50% of the planet.
An excellent indictor rather of the extent human hardship is the stat that the economist places unemployment in China at around 10%, thats alot of people.
The bottom line question is are we changing the enviornment?
Well of course, but there are many more factors: the solar output variances, volcanoes, and planetary wobbling which are uncontrollable.
What we need to do is make sure everyone has enough to eat and shelter to weather (heh) the changes.
Its like blaming human activities for the need to wear a toque before going outside. And then instead of handing out toques, tell people to stop using power for heat.
Though, i think David Suzuki, views himself as the lead character in Isben's play, The Enemy of the People.
Which only shows one can be right and wrong at the same time.
